Standards

Believing that fraternity/sorority organizations contribute in multiple ways to campus life and higher education, the leadership of the 26 inter/national women’s fraternities that comprise the National Panhellenic Conference is proud of the positive contributions our groups make to their host institutions. We are committed to the continuation of our organizations at their host institutions. In an effort to reaffirm our high standards, the leadership of these 26 groups provides standards as minimum expectations of collegiate chapters of the National Panhellenic Conference.

Although NPC member groups would prefer that the minimum expectations of collegiate chapters found in the standards document link above be used, we understand that our host institutions sometimes create their own standards. When this happens, NPC is committed to collaborating with the university and hopes to work with it to develop a mutually beneficial document that does not infringe on the rights of the member groups.

Since 2004, the National Panhellenic Conference has used a University Document Review Committee to evaluate any standard or accreditation document from a host institution and carefully examine the content. A summary of the feedback is shared with the inter/national presidents of the groups on that campus. After further analysis, a collective response is sent to the college/university, and personal follow-up is made by a designated liaison from the presidents.
